Vendor Insurance

June 18, 2021

Summer 2021 will be an incredible season for the craftsmen, artists, clothing and accessory makers, small scale food processors, and other small business owners, as local trade shows and festivals begin to open and flourish in the wake of the pandemic. While most vendors are excited to make face-to-face sales and share their products and services with the community, they may not be thinking about protection against potential liability claims, and having property coverage for their inventory, tools and equipment.

Vendor insurance is designed for exhibitors and vendors to protect their business while promoting and selling products and services in close contact with the community. In short, it offers protection from liability claims that may result from unexpected accidents or situations during an event. It has become more common that vendors are required to have insurance in order to register for an event or market.

Common claim scenarios vendors may face while attending an event:

  • Someone trips and falls at your booth on a table extension cord or tent leg.
  • Your inventory, booth or display is damaged or it damages someone else’s property or causes bodily injury while at the event.

QDL has worked with makers & vendors at many events, such as Field + Supply Makers Market (and their summer mini markets at Hutton Brickyards in Kingston), Basilica in Hudson, NY, Shoppe Object, and NY NOW in NYC, as well as some smaller shows throughout the Northeast.

Whether you are attending a single or multiple event show or looking for an annual policy, make sure your business is protected. Call us to find out more.
